These are the monthly activities at Truc Lam Meditation Center. We sincerely hope to receive the attention and support of all Vietnamese Buddhists both inside and outside the country to sustain these Buddhist charitable activities at the first Vietnamese temple on the island nation of Sri Lanka.
Celebrating the 100th Meditation Retreat at the end of June.
Each month, during the first week, Venerable Nun Dieu Bao’s group and Vietnamese Buddhists make offerings, but the other weeks still need sponsors. From a few initial participants, the retreat now accommodates an average of 100 practitioners each week. The cost to provide meals for one day of the retreat is about 3.8 million VND.
Additionally, other continuous activities at the meditation center include providing the right assistance to the right people, ensuring that benefactors gain merit when they make joyful contributions.
Monthly Activities
1. Children’s Meditation Retreat: Once a month. Cost of providing meals: 1 million VND.
2. Charity Meal Donations: Costs 2.4 million VND for providing meal boxes to the homeless on every full moon day.
3. Rice Distribution: Each relief package includes 10kg of rice/180k VND.
4. Truc Lam Scholarships: Supporting a child in a difficult situation with 600k VND per month.
5. Offerings to Elderly Nuns: Financial and rice offerings of 500k VND per month.
6. For nearly three years, the meditation center has been maintaining these genuine charitable activities monthly,
bringing immense joy to the community and helping those in need. These actions provide motivation for children to
attend school.
