Truc Lam Monastery in Sri Lanka is not only a place of spiritual practice but also a center for education and community support. Recognizing the importance of English learning in modern life, the Monastery sustains four weekly English classes every Sunday for local children, helping them to communicate confidently and improve their English proficiency.
Through these classes, local students not only enhance their English skills but also connect and learn from international teachers and volunteers at the Monastery. This is part of Truc Lam Monastery Sri Lanka’s mission to improve the quality of life and open new opportunities for the community.

- Primary School Class: For children aged 6-10, this class helps them grasp basic grammar and common vocabulary through fun and engaging lessons. The lessons are designed to encourage active participation and practice in English through group activities.
- Middle School Class: For children aged 11-14, this class focuses on developing listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Students are instructed on writing short paragraphs, participating in group discussions, and delivering small presentations to become more confident in English communication.
- High School Class: For students aged 15-18, this class concentrates on the skills needed for international exams like IELTS and TOEFL. Students practice essay writing, take mock tests, and discuss social topics to broaden their knowledge base.
- Conversational English Class: For all ages, this class aids students in practicing daily communication skills through real-life situations, role-playing games, and practical activities. Teachers also emphasize pronunciation and intonation to help students speak English fluently and naturally.
