Mediation Guidance For Children
The children’s meditation retreat is held on the full moon day each month.
Children are the most beautiful flowers in the garden of Dharma that we need to nurture and care for. They are the heirs of their parents, grandparents, and ancestors. Children are the rich resources of the nation. Moreover, children will be the ones to receive and preserve the Dharma in the house of Buddhism.
Understanding the importance of children to families, schools, and society, we need to protect them from social evils, bad friends, and video games. Training children in meditation from an early age will help them focus on their studies and maintain mindfulness.
The idea of “meditation for children” aims to help children understand the importance and benefits of meditation. Additionally, meditation for children is a place where they can practice mindfulness and learn life skills through mindfulness games. Meditation helps children purify their minds, develop compassion, and live more deeply. By understanding Buddhism and practicing meditation, their families will be more harmonious and happy.
With experience in teaching meditation to children in Sri Lanka since 2015, while still a student at SIBA, Venerable Phap Quang continues this work on the full moon day each month. Seeing children come to the temple to meditate is a great motivation for Truc Lam Zen Monastery to continue its mission in Sri Lanka.
The monastery gratefully accepts any donations you can offer.
Donating food for the children’s meditation retreat on the full moon day costs 1 million VND, equivalent to 12 thousand rupees.
